Hello world. A traditional holding message for someone’s very first web page.
This, actually, isn’t my very first web page. I’ve been building digital products for quite some time and, until recently, had always managed to maintain a personal blog. Nothing special. Just little musings on life, psychology, mind state, mental models, business and other things that keep me awake at night.
I’m no expert on these things, but as you learn, you grow. Keeping track of what you learn and how your mind changes is fun. Writing is a way of getting out those thoughts usually buried within. It’s quite therapeutic.
I say ‘until recently’ back there because, through some chronic oversight, my last website, aptly addressed kanesimms.com, where I’d post these musings, expired and was bought by some cheeky little devil. Thus, wiping 8 year’s of musings and forcing me to start again here.
So, here I am.
Luckily, I have each of those blog articles in Evernote, and so over the course of the next years, I have a golden opportunity to track my thoughts back through the years, update my thinking and share once again, my musings on life.
Posts dated before today will be the original posts published on the original date. Posts published after this date will be new. Fresh as a daisy.
One thing I’ve realised through writing regularly is that, when you take the time to explain your thoughts, you’ll find tremendous lessons in there.
So this isn’t actually for you, dear solitary reader. It’s for me. It’s my little corner of the internet that I use to get my thoughts, ideas, mental models, attitude and behaviours down so that I may learn.
But, if you find some value here too, then so be it.
For example, pay attention to the details. If you do, you’ll not let a life’s body of work expire into the ether of the internet.
And take bloody backups, so that if shit does hit the fan, you don’t lose it all.
