Glory hunting managers

June 27, 2015 by Kane Simms

Some managers want to be the ones with the ideas. Some want the glory. Some just want to keep their job and they think that the best way to do that is to be the one with the solution.

However, in this economy, the open and connected economy, it’s no longer safe to be a glory-seeking lone ranger. It’s much more important to be a people person and a team player. It’s more important to work with people because five brains are better than one.

This’ll be a completely new way of working for some managers and handing over control to the team will be a challenge. But it’s a challenge that must be overcome.

For once, the boss doesn’t have all the ideas. You’re more likely to find a solution to your problems from your team.
