Don’t let a theoretical future colour your actual present

December 31, 2020 by Kane Simms

It’s easy to hear about the impact or threat of coronavirus and let it get you down.

So many people died, so many families torn apart.

And what if you get it?

The news and social media amplify the potential impact of bad news. It emphasizes what the future will be like if the present continues and if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Coronavirus is just some example. What about the housing market, the job market

Almost everything has a theoretical bad ending. There’s gloom everywhere if you look at life through a gloomy lens

But most of the time, that gloom is only a potential future. It’s not the actual future. It’s not your future.

Your future is whatever you make it.

You have the power today to decide to do whatever will take you into a better direction.

The media’s future isn’t yours to run into.

And most of the time, it doesn’t affect you anyway. So why let it bother you?

Don’t let a theoretical future affect your mood today.

Get on with it.
